If you are in crisis, and need immediate support or intervention, call, or go the website of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255). Trained crisis workers are available to talk 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your confidential and toll-free call goes to the nearest crisis center in the Lifeline national network. These centers provide crisis counseling and mental health referrals. If the situation is potentially life-threatening, call 911 or go to a hospital emergency room.

Establishing healthy attitudes and habits in today’s society can be challenging, especially with the influence of social media. Please join Nancy Graham, LCSW from The Renfrew Center in Paramus who will talk about #bodyimage and #eatingdisorders including nutrition strategies and healing a person’s relationship with food. Some of the topics will include myths surrounding eating disorders, the influence of the media, signs and symptoms, how to get help, what to expect in treatment, preventive tips for parents and how you can be supportive to your child, loved one or yourself.

In this video created by Mayo Clinic, teens describe common signs that a teen is considering suicide and provide encouragement for communicating directly and immediately for support and safety.
